Yashodha Suriyapperuma is a jack-of-all trades but is primarily a filmmaker. He is the co-founder of Luna Productions, an independent film studio. Favouring subtlety, Yashodha believes in giving space for narratives to unfold naturally on screen. This year he is collaborating with Nuwan Attanayake on a documentary about the impact of monoculture and intensive farming, and the exploration of sustainable solutions. In addition to this, he is also collaborating with artist and musician Asvajit Boyle. They are developing an audiovisual installation depicting the excessive production of non-biodegradable materials by contemporary plastic manufacturing plants. Through these works he hopes to raise awareness and draw links between urban development and the natural world.
